Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party service that supplies that result path. Clay Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. If a visitor contacts us, the information in that message is used only to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may create routine logs containing an IP address, browser type, page request, and timestamp. Those records are reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand broad use patterns. Basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement may rely on cookies or similar tools.
How Limited Data Is Used
Technical information supports operation, error correction, traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
The reference links to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy terms of those services govern information submitted after leaving this domain. That includes sponsored search results supplied by an outside provider.
Who Can Process It
Hosting and support providers process the server information needed to operate the service. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires disclosure, and not otherwise.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because the reference has no user accounts, it does not hold visitor passwords or user profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where a visitor lives, laws may provide access, correction, or deletion rights for information a website holds. The official New York sources reviewed did not identify a broad general data-broker deletion or universal opt-out law; the SHIELD Act addresses security and breach obligations instead. Because this reference keeps very little, a request can be made through the Contact page and will be checked against contact messages and available logs. Public records kept by New York, Onondaga County, or Town of Clay custodians are outside our control and must be addressed with the office that holds them.
Changes to This Policy
Updates will appear on this page. Continuing to use the service after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
